COVID-19 Update #2

Dear Actors, Crew Members, and Parents/Guardians,

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and recent news about the CPS closure extending until April 21st, we wanted to connect regarding what this means for the future of our production of James and the Giant Peach.  

As of now, we will need to amend the performance dates, shifting them to later in the spring.  However, please understand that this situation is evolving daily, as the news unfolds.  We will be in touch again soon, once we have more specific information to share.  

Thank you for your continued flexibility in these fluid and uncertain circumstances. 

The students have been working hard and bringing so much creativity to the project!  We are hopeful that we will be able to safely resume our rehearsal process in the weeks ahead and create a wonderful show to share with the community.

COVID-19 Update

Dear Actors, Crew Membersand Parents/Guardians,

We hope you are all staying healthy and safe!
We know that everyone likely has many questions surrounding Bell’s production of James and the Giant Peach in light of the recent CPS closure due to COVID-19.  Here are some important updates to address our immediate concerns in this uncertain and rapidly evolving situation:


1)  Rehearsal is canceled for Monday, March 16th.
2)  In an effort to keep everyone healthy and safe, there will be no rehearsal during the closure of CPS.
3)  For the time being, the performance dates remain the same: April 30th, May 1st, and May 2nd.


The students have been bringing so much creativity and energy to this project!  It is a joy to guide them in the making of this marvelous show.  While this short closure is a disappointment for all of us involved in the production, we are confident that with our continued dedication to and joy for the project, we will have a wonderful show for our community come the end of April!  Please feel free to reach out to Audra or Sarah anytime should you have any questions.  We thank you in advance for your flexibility and look forward to picking back up with our creative work very soon!

Activity Fee

In order to keep our incredible Bell Spring Play tradition alive, the school requires each student in the Cast and Crew to pay an activity fee. This fee helps to support the entire show from the amazing PlayBell programs to our beautiful sets and costumes and everything in between! Below you’ll find separate Cast and Crew Activity Fee letters from Ms. Miller- please make sure you download the correct letter for your student! Fees can be turned in to Julie O’Sullivan in the main office, or fulfilled online through the ePay system on the Bell School website. As always, we don’t want this to be a reason to not participate in James and the Giant Peach, so if you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out!!

Callbacks!

We were so impressed by all of your confidence and preparation and enthusiasm at interviews and auditions! Thank you thank you for your hard work- Bell is the best!

Below you’ll find the callback list, as well as the three sides to prepare. You can print the sides directly from the website, or pick up printed copies from Ms. Prescott in the Music Room. Callbacks are next TUESDAY, 2/11 from 3:30-5:00 in the MUSIC ROOM!

Just a reminder: if you don’t see your name on the callback list, that doesn’t mean you won’t be in the play! We will be posting the full Cast and Crew List next Wednesday, so check back then!

A Sincerest Thank you

WE CANNOT BELIEVE IT’S OVER.

That was a stunning production. We couldn’t be more proud of our cast and crew for all their artistry, compassion, and rigor. We hope you are as proud as we are…but then again, that may not be possible.

If any of you need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We already miss you terribly. Oof.

Parent volunteers, please submit your receipts to Julie O’Sullivan in the main office ASAP.

We will be organizing a set strike very soon, please stay tuned to the blog. Additionally we are trying to organize a cast and crew after school party soon.
